Sure, he could have seen them anywhere. The stars were perfectly visible back in the village of Starset, far from the jagged rocks and unforgiving slopes of these wretched badlands. Seeing them back there was not enough, he had a strong desire to be here; nowhere else counted. Seeing stars in forgiving places like the city had no significance. This place, on the other hand, had a lot of significance; the last time he had been here prior to this week was the day of the accid

The Greshian Empire (the largest governing body in all Tesura) was first formed 1280 B.J. (before Jeb). They were in the beginning a humble group of farmers, but as many of the worlds "humble farmers" formed city-states, they would be left behind if they didn't do the same. They were led by a powerful dictator who promised the farmers a peaceful land, but only if they could drive away their potentially hostile neighbors. Of this, they were very efficient.
Many generations of warring Greshians eventually ingrained it into their culture, no way around it. The Greshian king ruled many city-states, creating the Greshian empire. Over time they grew, conquering nearly all of the south-east: The gothic city of Noir, the hostile tribesman of Warlog, all the way up to Shell Bay and the Syre jungle, were they were continuously driven back by the barbarians who lived there.
